GOD IS LOVE

God is Love and he who abides in Love, abides in God and God in Him

1 John 4:16

What is LoveLove is an intense feeling of deep affection. That “Butterflies in the belly” kind of affection. Who is God? God is the creator and ruler of the universe and source of all moral authority; the supreme being. What does supreme mean? Supreme means highest in rank or authority.

God is the creator and ruler of the universe and source of all moral authority; the supreme being

So, we can rightfully say; “God is the intense feeling of deep affection” or say; “God evokes intense feeling of deep affection”? Say either of this and you will not be far from the truth.

Love is patient and kind; it is not jealous or conceited or proud; love is not ill-mannered or selfish or irritable; love does not keep a record of wrongs; love is not happy with evil, but is happy with the truth. Love never gives up; and its faith, hope, and patience never fail. Love is eternal.

1 Corinthians 13:4-8 (Good News Translation)

I think the answer to who God is can be found in the text above. God, despite being a Supreme being, is Patient and kind. Even though, he can boss us around, He does not do that. He loves us inspite of our many weaknesses. He caters for us even though He knows the moment He answers our Prayers, we run off. He forgives our many sins, even though he knows we are committing the very same sin the next moment. He walks us through life and ensures we achieve the purpose He created us for. He is God.

Imagine being the Child of Jeff Bezos, Bill Gates or Aliko Dangote and lacking something. Whatever it is our desire; OUR LOVE has made provisions for it.

So, to tap of these manifold gifts and blessings, all we got to do is “abide in God”. How do you abide in God? Listen to him…

Just as much as almost every container is affected in some way by the food that is stored in it and oftentimes, takes its shape, colour, aroma or flavour; it is thesame way we become when we abide closely to God by obeying him, loving him and keeping his commands.
